Nicole Schmidt

I grew up in Bellevue, IA and I'm a former music educator currently working for Medline Industries.   

I moved to Dubuque in the Fall of 2020. Due to the pandemic, I wasn't able to start looking into a new parish until later in 2021 when restrictions were lifted. I was initially drawn to the beauty of the traditional church. The parish/school community had a pull as well, being I was previously employed at a K-12 Catholic school for 5 years. I felt I'd find a similar enjoyable atmosphere here as well. I officially registered as a member of St. Columbkille in September of 2022.

I find interest in the ENCOUNTERING CHRIST portion of our mission statement. While I may tend to be a more introverted individual, I find I've encountered Christ most deeply not in solitude, but through community. I'm hopeful to continue and multiply those opportunities & experiences as a member of the pastoral council.
