OUR GOALS and OBJECTIVES:
• To develop and invite the youth into discipleship in concrete ways
• To help them discern their own personal & spiritual gifts
• To help them to be aware of ministry opportunities and needs right
here in our community
• To help them become aware of how God is calling them in our world
today
• To develop Christian leadership skills and practice those skills in
everything they do; also helping to teach their peers these skills,
forming who they want to become and how they want to share
their gifts with others
• To continue to help them develop an intimate relationship with
Jesus Christ
• To create in them an ability to share their relationship with Jesus
Christ with others, including friends, family, peers, etc.
• To create in them an awareness of and an ability to articulate their
role in the Catholic/Christian community
• To be a part of developing strategies that support youth
discipleship
• To become an active part of parish ministries
• To give parents a way to recognize and support discipleship at
home
• To give parents a way to reflect their own call from God and give
them an outlet to share this with their young adult
• To invite parents to participate in the experience of RE-CHARGE
DUBUQUE in a personal way, offering their time when possible, but
also leading their young adult to a vision of the future.
• To prepare the Youth for the future clustering and merging of
community parishes; teaching them to respond as leaders
The youth are the future of the church; parent volunteers create a bond with their children and foster that call from their own Baptism to share their faith and invest in the future of their young adults faith.
