Sunday Homily Podcasts

WHAT IS PODCASTING?

In a nutshell podcasting is simply online audio content that’s delivered via webfeed. What’s a webfeed? Think of it as radio on demand. However, it gives you far more options in terms of content and program style than radio.

Podcasting reflects more of the variety that is available on CD’s.  Podcasting is like TiVo for radio! Podcasting provides tremendous freedom of choice to listeners!  You can download whatever programming you want and listen to it whenever and wherever you want!!  To listen to a podcast, you DO NOT need an iPod or any portable media player.  Podcasts are typically saved as MP3 format, so they can be listened to on almost any computer.  Of course, if you are “in sync” to the new super age of technology, you can “feedburn” a podcast directly onto your iPod, MP3 player or other media player.

St. Columbkille is offering each parishioner the opportunity to listen to Sunday Homilies when they cannot personally attend Mass.  Travel, bad weather and physical limitations are among the many reasons why some people cannot attend Mass.  Perhaps you would also just like to listen to the homily again or share it with a friend in hopes that it might reach out to them.  Think of it as borderless evangelism!   You can download these podcasts on your PC by simply clicking on the link here or if you would like to “feedburn” it to your iPod, MP3 player or other media player, please visit:  Click Here to Visit the iTunes web site.   Once you’ve visited the iTunes web site, you will need to download iTunes 6.0.  When the download is complete, launch the Music Store, then click on podcasts and browse.  St. Columbkille’s podcasts are listed under: Religion & Spirituality.  You will be asked for another category, which is Other.

Once you’ve clicked on “Other”, please scroll down.  The podcasts are listed alphabetically.  Click on our podcast to listen.  Follow normal procedures to download on your iPod.  If you get an error message at any time, please try clicking through this first.  Some browsers will not allow the user to access the iTunes site without adjusting the browser.  Click okay.  Please take a minute to let your browser access the music store. The podcast page will appear in a few seconds.  If you receive the error message again, please adjust your browser settings. When you’ve located the St. Columbkille podcasts, you will be able to “sync” the podcast with your iPod or other portable media player.

You DO NOT need a credit card to access this podcast page.If you need any further help, please click on the link below.    Click here to email the Webmaster
