Sacristans are the unsung heroes of most churches. They serve as coordinators for Mass, ensure the linens are pressed and clean, the votive candles have fresh inserts, altar vessels are kept safe and clean, that consumables like altar wine and bread are in adequate supply, and that the Church as a whole is kept secure and well lit, just to name a few duties! They are extensions to the hands of the priest. Gary Anglin, has been a Sacristan at St. Columbkille for 15 years. He helps teach atlar servers what a beautiful gift and privilege it is to serve on the altar of God. Gary served as an altar server at St. Columbkille as a young boy.

THE GIFT BEARER- The honor of being a gift-bearer requires no special skill or permanent ministerial duty, yet it is a beautiful act of service in the Mass performed by lay people. All families of the parish have the opportunity to participate in Mass in this way!
