We remember the many places in the world that are troubled by the horrors of war.

Hoping for peace, we pray:

For peace in our world
Creating God, hear our prayer.
For peace in Iraq
Creating God, hear our prayer.
For peace in Afgahnistan
Creating God, hear our prayer.
For peace in Israel
Creating God, hear our prayer.
For peace in Palestine
Creating God, hear our prayer.
For peace in Africa
Creating God, hear our prayer.
For peace in Asia
Creating God, hear our prayer.
For peace in Europe
Creating God, hear our prayer.
For peace in the Americas
Creating God, hear our prayer.
For peace in our hearts
Creating God, hear our prayer.

For all those who have died in efforts for peace:

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord.
and let perpetual light shine upon them.
May their souls and all the souls of the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

O God of All the Nations:

In freedom you created us and formed us in your image to be stewards of creation.
You call us to turn swords into plowshares and spears into pruning hooks.
Yet even when we turn away from you through the use of violence and aggression,
You send Jesus, your Son to call us back to Gospel faithfulness.
Today we ask you to hear the cries of all those who are victims of war and terrorism
Protect them in your love.
Today we ask you to hear the cries of all those who work for peace, especially the men and women in our armed forces.
Guide them in your wisdom.
Today we ask you to fill us with the Spirit of your peace.
We ask this through Jesus Christ, Your Son, Our Lord.
