Promises of a Faithful Altar Server

I will be faithful to the performance of my ministry as a Server.

I will be reverent and respectful of God’s House and all that is in it.

I will participate by making the responses while serving Holy Mass and pray to the best of my ability.

I will handle the Chalice and other sacred items with care and reverence.

As a Server, I will be on time to serve Holy Mass and if I am unable to be present, I will provide a substitute.

In my performance as a Server, I will dress neatly and will always look presentable.

I will do my best to serve my parish with great concern.

I will try to be a good example to all wherever I am and whatever I am doing.

I will always keep in mind that God will help me do these things if I ask Him.

AMEN.

Altar Server Guide

Order in which items are to be brought to Fahther when at the Altar:

1. Corporal: Large white cloth and Sacramentary (BIG Red book)

2. Purificators: Smaller folded white cloths

3. Ciboriums: Round, gold plate(s) of hosts

4. 2 or 4 smaller gold cups/small chalices

5. Father’s large, gold ornate chalice

6. Water and wine cruets (glass bottle-like pieces, with glass tops (remove for Father)

7. Water bowl and white hand towel

BE gentle with the sacred vessels: the ciboriums, chalices and cruets when placing them on the credence table(small table by Sacristy), so not to chip them.

THANK YOU!
