We Are Called…..

Prayer

One of the ways the Church has of keeping the sense of holy alive in its members is its large treasury of prayers. Many of these you have known since you were very young. Some you may still not know. Some are your own made up prayers. Prayers are gifts to fall back on. As members of the Body of Christ your challenge is to take your knowledge of prayer and the sense of the holy very personally. Being a person alive with a sense that God is real and that you can communicate with God are not signs of weakness. They are signs of personal strength.

Bible

The Bible is an essential element in the life of the Catholic Christian. The Bible is just not another book. It is God’s Word. A collection of divinely inspired books, and a source of inspiration and nourishment. Putting yourself in touch with this sacred test is a faithful way to learn of the excelling knowledge and fulfillment of Jesus Christ…his miracles, parables, death, and resurrection.

Seven Sacraments

A Sacrament is an outward sign of an inward grace instituted by Christ. Take the time to become more knowledgeable of each of the Sacraments and allow yourself the experience of these gifts.

Mary, Angels, and Saints

Pray to them and ask them to intercede to the Lord for you. Ask for their heavenly help, protection, guidance, and intercession.

The Holy Spirit

The third divine person of the Blessed Trinity. The Holy Spirit guides, comforts, and challenges us to be true followers of Christ. The Holy Spirit is alive and well in the Church. Let yourself be a part of this great gift.

Mass

The Eucharist or principal sacramental celebration of the Church. The Mass renews the paschal sacrifice of Christ in which the mystery of our salvation through participation in the sacrificial death and glorious resurrection of Christ is renewed and accomplished. A union of heaven and earth.

Service

A sense of service is no easy attitude to develop today. An attitude of service means putting self in second position. The real trick is to build a sense of service into your life, and to do the service because you really want to. You will always be busy in your life and it will be hard to find time to do service. The Master might return and find you scrambling in the dirt to dig up those talents of service you had buried so long ago.
