Food Pantry at St. Joseph The Worker (our Pastorate Parish)

The parish maintains a small food pantry through which we provide non-perishable food and health care products to our parishioners and those in the Dubuque area who are in need. Parishioners supply the pantry through donations of food and dry goods. There is a basket for donations in the main vestibule of the church. Specific needs are listed in the parish bulletin.

Dubuque Rescue Mission

Our linked parish serves the noon meal at the Dubuque Rescue Mission on four Sundays each year. Todd Linke & Dave Cushman) are board members. Rick & Jenny Ginsterblum are the St. Joseph The Worker parish leaders in this ministry. Parishioners donate desserts and salads. There is a need for new volunteers to coordinate the meal and parishioners’ donations.

St. Patrick Meal

Parishioners from St. Columbkille and St. Joseph The Worker prepare, deliver, and serve the Wednesday evening meal at St. Patrick parish six times each year. A group of parishioners gather to purchase, prepare and deliver the main dish to the site. Others bring salads, desserts and serve the meal. There is a need for parishioners to help with the preparation of the meal and the transportation of the meal. Between 75 – 100 people are served a hot meal each Wednesday night.
