Circle of Healing Prayer Blankets

Prayer Blankets

Shirley Lanners introduced our congregation to the idea of prayer quilts with beautiful quilts/blankets made by a few of our parishioners. The blankets symbolize love and care for healing.

Here is how the program works:

  1. Each blanket is handmade by a parishioner, and a special St. Columbkille Prayer for Healing is sewn on to each blanket. No two are alike.
  2. The blankets are blessed by Fr. Gabriel.
  3. When the parish office receives word of someone in need of a prayer blanket (child or adult), arrangements are made for a blanket to be delivered to the requestor or the person in need.

This ministry will make healing prayers tangible for those suffering with serious illness or infirmity. The blanket will serve as a symbol of faith in God and in God’s power to comfort, strengthen, and heal.

Prayer Blanket requests can be made through the parish office OR through Shirley Lanners. Before requesting a blanket for someone, please pray and ask others to pray as well.
