CONSIDERING BECOMING A CATHOLIC OR SIMPLY WANTING TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THE CATHOLIC FAITH
Are you thinking about joining the Catholic Church?
Do you have a friend or relative who is searching for a faith home?
Are you a Catholic who needs to complete initiation through Confirmation and/or First Eucharist?
Do you have a child or children who were never baptized?
Do you have a child who was baptized in another faith tradition, but wants to live as a Catholic Christian?
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (and adapted for children) is the way that the Catholic Church welcomes people into the Church. RCIA is much more than a program; it is a process in which conversion of the heart brings one to Jesus Christ through learning, discussion, prayer, and community. Inquiry will start in September. Participants are invited to grow more deeply in their faith and discern if joining the Catholic Church or completing one's initiation into the Church is what they desire.
RCIA is for:
Unbaptized adults and children over the age of seven who are considering entrance into the Catholic Church through Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist
Adults and children over the age of seven who were baptized in another tradition and are considering becoming a Catholic
Adults who were baptized Catholic but did not complete their initiation through Confirmation and/or First Eucharist
VOLUNTEERS ON THE JOURNEY
Catholics who would like to learn more about and share their faith and enrich their spiritual lives may serve the participants in the RCIA process as sponsors and/or godparents, hospitality ministers, or prayer companions.
If you are interested in joining the RCIA program, or volunteering, please contact Alice Noethe, Director of Faith Formation, Alice Noethe, Faith Formation Director, or 563-583-9117.
RCIA Calendar, 2017
Do you wish to have a closer relationship with God?
Do you seek the sense of joy, peace, and hope that you see in some Christians?
Do you want to live your faith in your daily life?
Do you desire to meet others with whom you can share your faith journey?
Do you wish to learn more about scripture, history in the Bible, etc?
Do you want to share the Good News of God's love with others around you?
If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, you are invited to seek a deeper relationship with God within the framework of a supportive Catholic Christian Community.
Our weekly bible studies are for adults of all ages and phases of their faith journey. Participants will experience the fullness of Christian faith offered by the Catholic Church through speakers and video presentations
The different Bible Studies offered provides a method and the support you need to grow in your faith, enrich your relationship with God, and live the life God intended for you.
Different studies are offered throughout the year! Next one is on Ephesians, with Jeff Cavins, an eight week study
This eight week study of Ephesians will help you more richly experience your faith and encourages a spiritual community that is filled with joy, hope and enthusiasm.
Our Bible Studies focus on a different series throughout the year. We offer two different days/times for your convenience: Tuesdays, 8:30 - 10 AM and Thursday evenings, 7 -8:30 PM. Catholic lay people lead the studies, with video presenter, Jeff Cavins at the helm of spiritual study!

That Man is You! is an interactive, multimedia men’s program focused upon the development of authentic male leadership. Over the course of three years, That Man is You! successively considers men in their relationship to God, to their spouse and to their children.
The program content harmonizes current social and medical science with the teachings of the Church and the wisdom of the saints to develop the vision of man fully alive. It is particularly indebted to the teachings of the Second Vatican Council and Pope John Paul II.
That Man is You! is successful at attracting large numbers of men, including younger men still actively parenting, and then transforming their spiritual lives. Indeed, independent research from a Faith Advisor to The Gallup Poll reveals That Man is You! to be one of the most life transforming programs ever studied.
We meet on Saturday mornings, 6 AM if you want to begin with breakfast! 7 AM if you just want to join us for the study session

Through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, this group of families gather every other Thursday evening to share in the Life and Mission of the Church. As families, they come together to support one another in faith to be educated and formed by the Church through Word and Sacrament. In turn, they become the sign of Christ’s love and they aim to communicate his love to their spouse, children and the world. Their mission as family (The Domestic Church) consists in building up the kingdom of God by familial love and sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with others. What God has freely given to these families through the life and Sacraments of the Church is returned in love through their Corporal and Spiritual works of mercy. Through the year, they gather in each other’s homes to pray, study, offer acts of charity and have fun. Some examples are: Book Study, Lectio Divina (Reading and contemplating the Word of God), helping at the Dubuque Rescue Mission, Feeding the hungry at the St. Patrick’s Wednesday night meal, home visits to those in most need through St. Vincent de Paul Society, Celebrating the Liturgical year, Adoration, Celebrating the Sacraments of Initiation of their children, birthdays, anniversaries, other important milestones and much more. We encourage you to join us or to gather other families in your home to live out your vocation of marriage as the Domestic Church.
If you would like to learn more or would like to join us for an evening please call Travis & Melissa King at (563) 582-9885 or Chuck & Melissa Tittle at (563) 564-6365 for details. God bless you and your family!
This is a Bi-Monthly program, meets in the Convent, 2nd Floor, Saturday, 6:45 AM
The Spiritual Book Club meets every other Saturday from 6:45 – 7:45 am. The only cost is the price of the book. There is always great discussion. The book chosen just depends on how the group votes: we’ve done a book on Fatima, on some of the spiritual classics (Confessions, Introduction to the Devout Life), on apologetics, and now we’re reading Spitzer’s book on Happiness. Anyone is welcome to join! It’s best to start when we start a new book. Always check the bulletin or this webpage for updated info.
