Clergy

Fr. Gabriel Anderson grew up the fourth oldest in a family of 10 children. That was good training for a life of service!! He was ordained to the priesthood at the Church of the Nativity, Dubuque on June 24, 1989 by Archbishop Daniel Kucera. After various pastoral assignments, Archbishop Jerome Hanus appointed Fr. Gabriel as pastor of St. Columbkille, Dubuque in July 2006. In addition, the Archbishop appointed him to also be pastor of St. Joseph the Worker, Dubuque in July 2012.

Fr. Gabriel has wonderful pastoral assistance of Fr. Hilary Aidoo, a priest of the Archdiocese of Cape Coast, Ghana, Africa. Together this holy band of brothers serves 6000 parishioners of the linked parishes of St. Joseph the Worker and St. Columbkille!!

A Message from Fr. Gabriel

(that means Jesus, Mary and Joseph, The Holy Family, pray for us!)

Dear Parishioners,

One hundred years ago, Our Lady of Fatima appeared to three peasant children in Portugal.  The Angel of Peace prepared the children by teaching them prayers and faith in the Holy Eucharist.  The Blessed Mother revealed to them Heaven, Hell and Purgatory, requesting prayer, reparation, repentance, and sacrifice for sinners.

Over the past ten years that I have been pastor here, we have celebrated 436 Baptisms; 68 RCIA; 415 First Holy Communions; 365 Confirmations, 184 Holy Matrimony; 307 into Eternal Life and the grace of countless Holy Communions, Holy Confessions, Holy Anointings, Masses, Rosaries, conversions and acts of reparation and sacrifice for others.  Let us renew our consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary uniting us ever closer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus!

 Blessings upon your family,

Fr. Gabriel Anderson
