St. Columbkille’s Vision 2012

WHAT CAN ST. COLUMBKILLE

DO FOR YOU?

OUR Parish Mission Statement

We, the Christian community of St. Columbkille Parish, conscious of our mission within the Roman Catholic Church, commit ourselves to be a living sign of God’s welcoming and loving presence. We will answer our call to give praise, worship, and thanks to our heavenly Father, to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ in word and deed, and to grow in holiness through the power of the Holy Spirit. United in that same Spirit, we will upbuild one another in faith, joyfully sharing the diverse gifts among us and prayerfully serving the spiritual and temporal needs of our parish, community, and world.

Dear Parishioners,

“The parishioners of St. Columbkille are the grandest people in the best parish and school in the country!” stated Msgr. Dunn.  Indeed, we celebrate 120 years as a close knit family of Catholic Faith! Each soul is important to Jesus Christ because He suffered and died for every person. That is why our spiritual care and outreach for each soul is imperative here at St. Columbkille. It is my blessing to serve you as pastor. All of us are called to share our gifts as the family of God.

“His Gifts were that some should be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the Body of Christ.” Ephesians 4:11-12.

Building up the Body of Christ is the most important work in the world!  The Real Presence of Jesus Christ changes our lives. Ministry is that moment where people can be accepted and transformed by Jesus! Filling us with the Holy Spirit, it is Jesus who unites us together with Our Heavenly Father. We experience this at St. Columbkille.

At the parish picnic this year, we celebrated the 90th Birthday of Msgr. Francis Friedl, our Centennial Pastor. What an example he is for us! His thoughtfulness and generosity has provided us with our Ministry Book this year. Inspired by our Centennial Pastor, we are preparing for our 125th Anniversary with a Five Year Plan called VISION 2012.

St. Columbkille has so much to offer YOU and your family!  Time is moving forward and changes are taking place all around us. Together, we belong to God’s Family. St. Columbkille is a living and changing part of the Body of Christ. Each ministry is vital. Call the contact people listed in this booklet. With the goals and objectives of VISION 2012, YOU will grow closer to Jesus. Have complete confidence in the Catholic Church.

VISION 2012 invites you to discern your Divine calling here at St. Columbkille.  This ministry booklet will help you to understand where you are called, where God needs YOU to serve. Listen and feel God inspire your heart with interest and concern.  God has given you talents to match your calling. Good stewards are gift bearers.  God calls us to be Christ-like, a blessing to others.

THANK YOU for being a faithful parishioner of St. Columbkille! You have generously dedicated your time, talent and treasure to our Lord Jesus Christ. Only in heaven will you know the eternal appreciation in the lives transformed by Jesus through you!

May Almighty God Bless YOU,

Fr. Gabriel Anderson
